beware of drama!!!

so i try to keep the drama to a minimum in this blog.....i am sure most people don't want to hear the crazy up and down crap of relationships.....but i am just having too crappy of a day! so i was dumped again and told that he would start looking for someone new and just wants to be friends.....however then gets mad when i say fine, we can be friends but don't tell me about all the things you couldn't get with me that you will get with this new person, ugh!!! i don't have to hear that anymore....well that is the end of my personal rant for now

i am just going to take it easy for now and get a job.....will hold off on dating for a bit but if i meet someone will go for it....just doubt i will be interested for a bit

SUMMER!!!

so as you could tell from my last pic, have already started the summer fun in Chicago. for memorial day a friend of mine barbecued and then we all went for a walk on the beach. i was happy warm weather was here so i wore a dress and finally wore one of the shawls i made, traveling woman. i am very proud of it and it felt great!

this weekend is my neighborhoods festival, midsommersfest. planning on grilling and drinking before and then walking over. they are having some great bands and my friends/ex is coming with a cousin of his who just came from london. last year's fest was amazing, so i am expecting the same this year.

on the knitting front, i am still hard at work on my stepmoms blanket. made a mistake (mixed up what row i was on) and had to rip back five rows. this did however give me great chance to take a picture and it is coming out better than i could have ever expected!!! here it is:

so i guess i havent posted in awhile.....let's see what has been happening with me. my friend and i are still working things out but it seems to be going well with us. we will reevaluate everything once he gets everything settled with his family.

am still on the job search. i havent heard too much but am hoping to hear from a specific job with the state soon!!! everyone will be able to hear me screaming if get this job!

still working on my knitting. i just finished a project called saroyan, it came out very nice and have been wearing it during the cold snaps that keep coming back. have been working really hard on the blanket for my stepmom's birthday in august. i wish i could see her face when she gets it because i think it will blow her away. have to put my knitting away for a day or two since my wrist is giving me problems from too much knitting :(

had some news in my family. my stepsister and her husband were in a motorcycle accident this weekend, but are doing well considering.

just another week

so haven't heard back from the store manager yet, but am holding out hope that i will. i don't really have too much to say but i am trying to post blogs at lease once a week. still knitting but i have to wait to get a skein of yarn from my exes (?) house. i put a question mark because i am not sure exactly what we are right not....i guess somewhere in between? i have a decision i need to make but i have time for now.

since i don't have the yarn i need for my kal right now i am giving another try to a shawl i was working on before. it is based off of a character from bones, angela. it is called traveling woman. i hope it works out since i do love the pattern and i want to do all three bones designs.

i guess that is it until i get something more interesting to post.

boringest weekend ever (yes i know that wasn't a real word)

so have spent all of this weekend being the biggest hermit in the world. it is always clear to me on the weekends how little of a life i have. i am not the greatest at making and keeping friends, i just never have much to talk about so people lose interest. hopefully everything goes well on wednesday and i will at least have work to liven everything up.

on another note, will probably be seeing my ex in the next day or so as i need to get somethings from his place for this week. we are in a weird place where we are together but not together. hopefully work will also answer some of those questions for me as well since i won't have so much time to dwell on everything.

still not done with my latest clue. i have to get some more of the yarn from my exes place so i can finish.

interview

yay!!! so a quick post just to say i received a call back to interview at borders for next week!!! i know that this isn't the job i will have for the rest of my life but at least it is something to do and making money and being productive. this makes me very happy! other than that, clue four came out for the robin mystery kal so am in the midst of that right now. will post pics soon

just another monday

So I am doing a bit better since I last posted. My ex and I have been talking (as friends mainly) and are doing ok, he lost some of my trust (he wasn't cheating, I wouldn't talk to him if that were the case) so I am just going to take my time and see how I feel with everything.

Other than that, have been pretty busy. I went to a friends house and made some beautiful pillow covers. I haven't sewed anything in awhile so it was nice.

I wish the weather would get better, it keeps going cold then hot and back again. I will be happy when the weather turns warm for good.

another man bites the dust

So much for he is the one. Last night he wanted to talk and we ended our relationship. Details aren't important (somethings I couldnt say because they are his private business) but suffice it to say he has decided he "never wants to commit to anyone". So I am going to take the time until I get a job to just be on my own and get over everything as best as I can.

monday morning

Just a quick post.....spent a stupid fight filled day yesterday and got very little sleep because of it. Having been out of work for awhile, I got out of the habit of waking up early so I am trying not to get in rut of sleeping all day. Sucks today though.

Right now it is sunny so I took my bike out again. I am hitting the bottom of the pool on jobs. I have been applying at retail stores just so that I can get something coming in until I can get a job I really want. It is so depressing to think of working in retail again (not exactly my personality, but you do what you have to do), but I need money coming in.

Anyway, waiting anxiously for the third clue of the robin KAL. I am very excited to see what this next piece will look like. Not sure yet what the bead are supposed to be yet, but hopefully it will be clearer with this clue. There are four clues so I know most of the fourth will be the ending

the beginning

So, i tried blogging a bit ago, but forgot about it so I now have a new blog and will work on writing in it. As with most personal blogs, this will be about my life (hopefully I won't bore anyone too much) and my knitting.

So I am 26 years old and living in Chicago. I am originally from New Orleans and moved here almost nine years ago to go to college. I have loved Chicago from day one "(could do without the bitter cold winters, but who couldnt) and pretty much can see my life here. I have been in a serious relationship for about ten months and I believe he is the one for me.

Now for my blog title.....I have been unemployed for almost four months and I am going crazy with it. I am not the type of person who can sit with nothing to do, I need a purpose in life. Only two things have gotten me through it...my bf and knitting. My bf has been a rock for me throughout the entire time. Losing my job was like a death for me. I worked with kids for five years and I miss it all the time. As for knitting, all I can say is thank goodness for my stash.

Right now I have two projects cast on my needles. The first is a hemlock ring blanket pattern. The other project is a she-knits mystery KAL (knit-a-long). This is my second KAL with she-knits and I love her patterns, they flow and are easy to follow.

Other than that, I have been enjoying the three days of great sunshine that are so rare to Chicago this time of year. As I lost my job in the winter, I was cooped in the house all the time. When the sun and warmth come, the bike comes out. Last summer I had some health issues going on so I didn't bike as much and I missed it so much. So the past few days I have been on my bike as much as possible and am feeling the pain associated with not having worked out in awhile.
